About Susan

Susan is a Doctoral-level trained Licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer  who is certified in a plethora of other areas including:  strength and conditioning specialist, post-injury running coach, Selective Functional Movement assessment, Pilates Mat 1 & 2 reformer, and she is also the Clinical Director of the Special Olympics Fun Fitness Program.  Susan has over 19 years of experience and in her day-to-day work she evaluates, develops and carries out care plans for physical therapy patients; she also adjusts and progresses the plans as needed.  Susan, with a combined strong sports medicine background and a strong connection to groups in the community, helps Leading Edge in reaching out to the Lakeland community and also the sports medicine patient population.  The reason Susan enjoys working at Leading Edge is the family centered approach to the staff and the Christian atmosphere in everything that they do.  She also loves growing the business and working towards a more community presence.

Susan has been married to her husband, Brad for over 24 years, and together they enjoy their two kids: Myah and Bryson, and also their black lab named Mickey, their black mouthed cur named Jade, as well as a rabbit, Bubbles.  Outside of work she enjoys running, working out, watching sports (her favorite team being The Ohio State Buckeyes), and volunteering.

Susan is motivated by the following passage, and quote:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  –Philippians 4:13

“Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.” –Les Brown
