About Mike

Mike is the Owner and President of Leading Edge Physical Therapy with over 15 years of experience, he is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 23 years of experience.  He holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Medicine, and also a Bachelor of Physical Therapy.  He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1996.  He was clinical instructor of the year in 2010 for Polk State College, and he is Back to Golf Certified.  Daily, Mike casts visions for Leading Edge Physical Therapy, and evaluates and treats muscular-skeletal dysfunction, continually trains and motivates staff, and “creates chaos and mayhem for Michelle and Debbie to fix.” Mike brings a myriad of attributes to the table which include, but are not limited to, a passion to help people with their physical needs, a desire to encourage people to better themselves both personally and professionally, and he brings a desire to encourage people to seek God and express it in a safe environment.  He wishes to continue growing the business through staff training, promoting the integration of robotics in physical therapy, and even aspires to build his own robot in the future.  His choice to become a physical therapist originates from his mother-in-law’s belief in his abilities as a physical therapist. His favorite part of work is enjoying the busy times-“smoking busy”- and people are laughing and carrying on with our patients. One of Mike’s loves regarding his job are that he is in an environment where he is doing what he loves while still contributing meaningful work.



Mike has a wonderful family consisting of his wife Delta, who he has been married to for over 32 years.  Together they have two daughters-Heather and Juliana.  In his free time he enjoys (to quote him) “playing golf, walking while playing golf, riding a cart while playing golf…”  J.  He likes to exercise, workout with weights, and walk Lake Hollingsworth.  He also enjoys traveling and getting to play golf while traveling.  Mike enjoys sports and his favorite teams include the Florida Gators, the Washington Redskins, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
