Physical Therapy Services

Robotic:

Following the same principles as Muscle Balance Therapy in order to lengthen muscles, decrease pain, and restore healthy function. Using repeated acupressure, it improves circulation, removes muscular waste products, and restores muscle balance to overused muscles. Traditional massage typically employs squeeze and release, stroking, or other forms of percussive techniques. The Therbo Robot employs a “squeeze and hold” technique that is followed by a second, gentler application of pressure. Decreased pain and improved muscle endurance and flexibility will result.

Vestibular:

When problems occur in the vestibular system, the result is dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, fogginess, or wooziness. Balance is affected by three systems: Vestibular (the inner ear labyrinth), Visual, and Somatosensory (input from the extremities and trunk about our position in space and our support surface). Each system provides unique and essential information. Leading Edge’s Vestibular Rehabilitation begins with a thorough assessment of all three sensory systems of balance and evaluates your overall physical condition to identify any underlying deficits.

Sports Medicine:

Leading Edge Physical Therapy offers sports medicine in addition to physical therapy and other specialized services. We have a Certified Athletic Trainer who also partners at Victory Chrisitan Academy and will prepare you and help you recover quickly to be back on the field. We also offer treatments in concussion management, golf improvement, and performing arts rehabilitation.

Massage Therapy:

Massage therapy is the perfect complement to any rehabilitation program, proving to be an effective technique in preventative care. General wellness, deep tissue relaxation, and injury prevention are all potential outcomes.

Stretching

Stretching is an important part of one’s daily routine – whether you’re exercising or not. You stretch connective tissue, muscles, or tendons and the goal is to improve range of motion, flexibility, and muscle elasticity. It’s important to make sure you’re doing the right kind of stretches before and after your workout. Our therapists can put together an exercise routine for your specific type of workout.
