Leading Edge Take Heart 10K & 5K

The Leading Edge Take Heart (LETH) 5K is an annual event held in Lakeland, FL that makes a global impact in the lives of orphans and widows in rural Kenya. This year, the majority of funds raised will go directly to the Primary School Campus project that will impact hundreds of children in the Oyuma Village community in rural Kenya. Runners and walkers alike can make a difference together by participating in this family community event!

Delta Ryan (our owner, Mike Ryan’s wife) founded Take Heart in 2011 and serves as their president. Since 2017, we’ve been partnering with Take Heart for this cause. Lakeland Runners Club

The Lakeland Runners Club, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) under the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). An all-volunteer organization since its founding in 1974, the LRC produces the largest road race events in Polk County. Governed locally by a board of directors, their mission is to promote running and fitness for runners of all ages and abilities in the community through fellowship, education, and formal & informal running events. Their races and training programs welcome a broad population of runners, from local elite and competitive to recreational runners and walkers of every age, ability, and background.
